Crane Earrings

Excuse my lack of macro photo skills. Or, don't.

Ostern

Mom enlisted me to make some origami tulip potted plants for Easter centerpieces. Welp.

Made these the night before Easter. You know, when I thought "Damnit, now I have to go out in the fog and buy terracotta pots..."

Finished product, with Spanish moss and a big bow, which looks sort of ruffled. Hot glue everywhere.

Saturation. These pictures lack it.

Origami Rose Cube

Finally made a few of these. The one I'm posting isn't made with washi paper, it's made with slightly thinner scrapbook paper.

Er...turns out, the paper isn't as malleable as I'd like it to be, so the leaves will forever be slightly demented.

Origami (cont.)

Oh boy do I need lunch right now. Anyway.

Another tiny crane! I think this one looks better, the folding is more precise. But I still can't fold the bill correctly on these small ones...by the way, this isn't washi paper.

This tulip is 1/4 the size of a regular one.

Fluted diamond, also known as "that thing from the Sims". Not washi paper.

Medium fluted diamond, again made with the 1/4 sized washi paper.

Fluted diamond, made with 1/16 sized washi paper.

Winged heard, designed by Francis Ow. I must have made this months ago.

This happens more often than it should.

Origami

Haven't updated this in over a year, deleted the header and changed the background to some preset tile thing. Right now I don't even have the patience to dig through the coding and make it not look horrible. But anyway. Have some origami.

Teeny tiny cranes, the folding on these is horrible.

Tiny cranes next to a regular crane (with awful folding on the bill, christ why did I choose that one...). The little cranes are 1/16 the size of the regular crane, made with standard size paper.

Chippins Hill and Black Rock--The Transition and the Indian Summer

The Chippins Hill photos were taken a little over a month ago. Some friends and I decided to go sledding for the first time in god knows how long. I found a small creek at the opposite steep slope of the hill we were sledding down.

Last Saturday, we went for a hike at Black Rock State Park. I only got the chance to take a few photos of the Naugatuck river. After a while, we hit a dam with a small waterfall and a few rapids. I got a few nice shots of the waterfall, but I lost the photos D:

The Snow Storm that Was

It appears to be a punishment or a joke from Wednesday's snow scare--schools and businesses closed the night before the storm hit, and when all was said and done, only up to a few inches of wet snow were on the ground. But Tuesday's storm was anticipated to be a light clipper storm. Though we were given a little warning as to what could develop, many schools (like mine) remained open, graciously allowing students to drive home through frosty streets and 11 inches of snow.
